The annual spring production of Smith County High School’s Theatre Arts Department will be March 23-25 in the SCHS Auditorium. This year’s production is “Stranded!”, a three act comedy which can be described as “Gilligan’s Island meets Survivor.” “Stranded!” is directed by Dillon Reed, and student directed by Tayler Beale.
In this hilarious show, eight individuals are invited to an island for different reasons: a political meeting, a weekend getaway at a spa and resort, a basketball tournament… The problem is, none of it is real, and the castaways soon realize they are stranded. For a beauty queen, presidential candidate, boy genius, Girl Scout, basketball player, self-made billionaire, 80-year-old widowed grandmother, and the most average American teenager in existence, being stranded on a deserted island would be bad enough, but there’s an even bigger problem; the castaways have company on the island! Watch as this band of misfits survive the island and each other, and be prepared for non-stop laughs along the way!
Public performances will be March 23rd at 6:30PM, March 24th at 2:30 and 6:30PM, and March 25th at 2:30PM. Tickets are available now at Smith County Drug Center for $5. Additional tickets will be available at the door, and all seating is general admission. Proceeds from the show will be used to fund upgrades to the SCHS auditorium and for future performances.
