The annual spring production of Smith County High School’s Theatre Arts Department will be March 17th, 18th, and 19th in the SCHS Auditorium. This year’s production is Sherlock Holmes and the West End Horror, a murder mystery comedy written by Anthony Dodge and Marcia Milgrom Dodge, and directed by Dillon Reed and Connie Dyer.
The show, which stars Tommy Wilmore as Sherlock Holmes, takes place towards the end of the great detective’s career; his mortal enemy is no more, and he finds himself in a state of depression as he longs for a worthwhile challenge. When a theatre critic is murdered, an old friend of Sherlock’s visits and begs his help to solve the mystery. Encouraged by Watson (portrayed by sophomore Alex Bibian), Sherlock accepts the case and embarks on a hilarious journey to uncover the truth.
Public performances will be March 17th at 6:00PM, March 18th at 2:30 and 6:00PM, and March 19th at 6:00PM. Tickets are available now at Smith County Drug Center for $5. Additional tickets will be available at the door. Proceeds from the show will be used to fund upgrades to the SCHS auditorium and future performances.
