On Saturday, September 28, 2019, the streets of downtown Carthage were transformed into a bustling pioneer village during the annual William Walton Harvest Festival.
Attendees of the William Walton Harvest Festival enjoyed listening to live music, eating delicious food from vendors and downtown restaurants, watching craft demonstrations, seeing folks in period costume, shopping with vendors, and perusing the stores downtown.
Children could take a train ride down the street, bounce high on a bungee trampoline, and play on an inflatable slide and bouncy house.
During the day, the Smith County Heritage Museum invited people to tour the museum to learn more about William Walton and the history of Smith County.
The event’s festivities continued with the Harvest Queen Pageant, and the night ended with a rousing performance by the Southern Ground Band.
