After failing to stop at a stop sign at Difficult Road and Defeated Creek Highway, the driver of a black Ford Focus was transported to the Smith County Jail after being arrested on several drug charges on July 7.
Smith County Sheriff’s Deputy Dallas Eddie witnessed Driver Katherine R. Langford run a stop sign. After initiation with the driver of the vehicle, the deputy discovered Langford did not have proof of insurance and was driving on a suspended driver’s license.
According to the police report, Deputy Eddie detected an odor of marijuana coming from the inside of Langford’s Ford Focus.
As the deputy was conducting a search of the vehicle, Langford stated she had CBD inside the vehicle, but could not recall its exact location.
Upon further questioning from Deputy Eddie, Langford admitted to having marijuana and some pills under the steering wheel of her car.
The police report stated that a baggie containing 13.2 g marijuana, a baggie of 18 Hydrocodone pills and four-1mg Xanax (alprazolam) pills were discovered in Langford’s Ford Focus.
Langford was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail.
She is being charged with Driving While Suspended, Possession of Sch II, Poss of Sch IV and Poss of Sch VI. She was also issued a warning citation for Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign and Lack of Financial Responsibility.
Langford’s driver’s license was also confiscated.
