(Smith County Insider Press) Grant, Tenn. – Saturday morning, January 28, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a rollover accident around the 252 mile marker West bound.
Upon arrival on scene, authorities found a 2004 Fords Escape that at overturned in the middle of the interstate. The vehicle was traveling West on I-40 when it drifted into the cable barrier on the left hand side of the roadway. It then crossed both lanes of traffic and struck the guardrail on the right hand side of the roadway, causing it to overturn.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Virginia Blady, 59, of Antioch, TN.
Blady was transported to Tennova Hospital in Lebanon by Smith County EMS. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Trooper Ronnie Smith of the Tennessee of the Highway Patrol worked the scene.
Dale’s Towing and Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene.
