With the loss, the Tigers finished the 2016 campaign 16-21, and in a tie for 5th place in the 1A Class of Tennessee Baseball. The Tigers made the last four weeks of the 2016 season some of the most memorable for the little town of Gordonsville as they reached the sub-state portion of the TSSAA State Baseball playoffs for the first time since 1986, as well as reaching the TSSAA Spring Fling for the first time in the baseball program’ history. The Tigers also added their name to the history books by winning the school’s first ever state tournament baseball game. Even with a losing record, the Tigers had their seat at the table, so they ate! Congratulations to the 2016 Gordonsville Tiger Baseball Team and Coaches, top 6 in 1A Baseball!
