On Monday, August 12, 2019, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the new Bonnell Aluminum Family Health and Wellness Center at Bonnell’s Carthage plant.

This new facility for Bonnell employees houses a clinic on one side and a fitness center on the other.

Bonnell broke ground on this project in April 2019, and now, four months later, the clinic is ready to begin accepting patients. The clinic, which is managed by OnSite Care, will officially open its doors on Wednesday, August 14.

The fitness center is expected to open later this month.

Many local Bonnell employees, corporate officials, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting on Monday morning.

“This is a big deal,” Brook Hamilton, President of Bonnell Aluminum, told the crowd.

Hamilton emphasized that the opening of the Family Health and Wellness Facility is a way for Bonnell to invest in its people, provide more personal and more thorough healthcare to employees, and enhance the employer-employee relationship.

Donna Milavetz, Onsite CEO and Chief Medical Officer, also spoke at the ribbon cutting. Milavetz expressed her excitement that the new clinic would remove barriers of cost and provide easier access to healthcare for Bonnell employees and their dependents.

Milavetz described the clinic as a “different, meaningful, cost-effective way to do medicine.”
