Rebecca Paschal of Cellar 53 Winery featured in TN Department of Agriculture article

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture published an article on Wednesday describing the increasing involvement of women in the agriculture industry in Tennessee and across the nation.

According to the article, from 2012 to 2017, the United States Census of Agriculture reported a 27% increase of female farmers nationwide.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture interviewed several female farmers from across the state, one from right here in Smith County.

In the article, Rebecca Paschal of Cellar 53 Winery weighs in on her decision to transition from growing grapes to winemaking, as well as the importance of Tennessee Department of Agriculture resources such as the Pick Tennessee Products (PTP) website.
