After much thought and discussion and encouragement from many people, the Smith County Fair Board Executive Committee has made this decision: the 2020 Smith County Fair will be held June 29 thru July 4 as planned.
There will be many changes made to try and meet Governor Lee’s Executive Order 38, which includes Fairs, Festivals, and Large Gatherings. This order runs through June 30. At that time, a new order will go into place and adjustments will be made.
The Fair will look and feel different. Due to social distancing, which our guests are asked to follow, we WILL NOT HAVE UCART vans. You will have to walk from your parking place to the front gate. There will be NO transportation from the Gate to the events. When you arrive at the Gate, your temperature will be scanned, and if you have a temperature, you will not be allowed to enter the grounds.
Executive Order 38 encourages the use of face coverings as well as social distancing. Groups of 50 are allowed in an area as long as they stay 6 feet apart.
James Gang Amusements assures us their rides will be sanitized and cleaned regularly.
Our Food Court tables will be cleaned and sprayed regularly.
Many events and competitions have and will be canceled. There will be NO FCE exhibits. We suggest you follow this news source for the latest updates.
We encourage anyone who does not feel comfortable coming out to please stay home and come to our 2021 Fair.
We are going to try and put on the best Fair possible under these conditions. PLEASE if you attend, as a courtesy to your neighbor, practice social distancing and follow the rules.
