Police are searching for a man who robbed the Stagecoach General Store in the Dixon Springs community on New Year’s Eve night.
Deputy Nick Campbell of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office noticed the vehicle door of the Stagecoach’s owner, Mr. Patel, was open with no one inside it at around 9:15 p.m.
At that time, Campbell turned around to check on the vehicle, and upon doing so, dispatch advised that there was an aggravated burglary that had just occurred at the Stagecoach.
Campbell entered the store and made contact with Patel. According to Patel, as he entered his vehicle, a male subject approached the vehicle and commenced to break the window out.
Once inside the store, the subject had Patel hand over money and then ran back to his vehicle and proceeded to head toward Trousdale County.
