C. D. “Digger” Poindexter was re-elected to the Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directors in an election held last Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24, 2019.
Seats in District 1 (Smith, DeKalb, Macon, and Wilson counties), District 3 (Overton, Clay, Fentress, and Pickett counties), and District 4 (Jackson County) were up for vote in this year’s Directorate Election.
The only contested seat was in District 1, where Robin Underwood ran against incumbent C.D. Poindexter.
Underwood carried District 1 with a total of 499 votes to 432 votes, but Poindexter won the election by a total of 751 votes to 636 votes.
In District 3, James W. West was re-elected by a total of 788 votes.
In District 4, Jim Brown was re-elected by a total of 790 votes.
