June 6, 2020

Earlier today, a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest was held on the lawn in front of the Historic Smith County Courthouse in downtown Carthage, Tennessee.

Approximately a dozen protestors gathered with signs that read “Black Lives Matter.”, “I will never understand, but with you I stand.”, “No change without policy change.” and “Treat People with Kindness.”

One of the protestors told Smith County Insider that the purpose of the protest was “to show that everybody has to care about this, even small towns.”
