Nevada Fugitive Arrested for Domestic Assault on Byrd Lane

(Smith County Insider Press) – On November 19, 2017, Deputy Adam Fulton with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on Byrd Lane to take a report for a stolen vehicle. Deputy Fulton spoke with Cheryl Armstrong who stated that her husband, Austin Armstrong (33, Pocahontas, Arkansas) had taken her vehicle earlier in the day and headed toward Lebanon.

According to the police report, Mrs. Armstrong stated that she and her husband had been standing in the driveway arguing. Mr. Armstrong was reportedly yelling at Mrs. Armstrong and spat in her face.

Deputy Fulton advised Mrs. Armstrong to call the SCSO if Mr. Armstrong returned home.

Approximately 1 hour later, Mrs. Armstrong called the SCSO and reported that her husband hand returned home. According to the police report, when Deputy Fulton arrived back at the residence, he was informed by Mrs. Armstrong that her husband had fled on foot. Deputy Fulton searched the woods behind the house, but did not locate Armstrong.

A warrant was obtain on Mr. Armstrong for domestic assault.

According to the police report, Mrs. Armstrong called the SCSO once again to report that her husband had returned home. Deputy Fulton returned to the residence and placed Mr. Armstrong under arrest for domestic assault.

Armstrong also has warrants out of Nevada.
