Mr. James Mark “Big Luke” West

Mr. James Mark “Big Luke” West, age 54, of Popes Hill, died Monday afternoon, February 1, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He is survived by: wife, Cindy Givens West; sons, Matthew West of Livingston, Casey Elrod of Carthage; siblings, Teresa W. Mofield and husband David of Rome, Donnie West and wife Susie of San Antonio, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Ruth Givens of Kempville.

Mr. West is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. His service will be conducted on Thursday, February 4, at 1:00 PM at Rome Baptist Church. Bro. Wayne Malone and Pastor Donnie West will officiate. Interment in the New Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge. Steven Ray, Ricky Mahler, Ronnie Maynard, Steve Hopper, Eugene Roberts and Jason Graves will serve as pall bearers. The Smith County Sheriff’s Office will serve as honorary pall bearers.

Visitation at on Wednesday will be at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Visitation on Thursday will be at the Rome Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.

The family has requested memorials to the West Medical Fund.
