(Smith County Insider Press) — A Carthage man was arrested after a meth lab was found in the trunk of his vehicle Saturday, July 1.
Sgt. Dusty Hailey of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, along with Sheriff Hopper went to a Phelps Court residence in Carthage to serve a criminal warrant for violation of parole on Mark Robertson (46, Carthage).
Upon arrival, Robertson was exiting a Pontiac G6 and then began walking toward the back of his residence. He was advised that we was under arrest for the parole violation, according to the arrest warrant.
During a search of Robertson’s vehicle, a clandestine one pot meth lab was located in the trunk along with several items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, including coffee filters, lithium batteries, drain cleaner, instant cold packs, starting fluid and plastic tubing.
Sheriff Hopper contacted Sarge Thompson of the Drug Task Force so the meth bottle could be quarantined and disposed of.
Robertson was transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking and is charged with Promotion of Methamphetamine Manufacture, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Violation of Parole.
