Some great information about the local response to COVID-19 was shared during last night’s school board meeting.

Director of Schools Barry H. Smith talks about the Board of Education’s response and the take-home meal program beginning at the 19 minute mark.

Around 33 minutes in to the meeting, Kim Maynard, Coordinated School Health Program Coordinator, provides  general information about the virus and what’s being done at the county level to combat it.

The Smith County School Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. at the Smith County Board of Education, located at 126 Smith County Middle School Lane in Carthage, Tennessee.

The next School Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
