A Dixon Springs man was arrested on drug charges after being found under the influence of methamphetamine last Tuesday, September 6.
Sgt. Junior Fields of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2 Bear Wallow Lane for a welfare check last Tuesday. Upon arrival, he spoke with 34-year-old George Curtis, along with his two juvenile children and aunt. According to Fields, Curtis “was speaking about seeing little people, individuals following him, and noises he was hearing.”
Fields observed a blue Crown Royal bag in Curtis’ lap, at which he inquired as to what was inside. Curtis opened it and pulled out a small black pouch which contained a small Zip Lock bag containing methamphetamine, according to the report. Also inside the bag was a used hypodermic syringe.
According to the report, Curtis stated he had used crystal methamphetamine at approximately 5 am that day.
Curtis was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.
He is charged with possession of controlled substances, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and allowing animals to run at large.
