Kenneth Jay Holland
(Smith County Insider Press) – On March 4, 2018, Officer Jared Smith with the Carthage Police Department made a casual encounter with Kenneth Holland (30, Lebanon) and his girlfriend at the Budget Inn in Carthage.
According to the arrest warrant, during the encounter, Holland was found to be in possession of a small baggie, located in his hat, which he said contained “ice.” Both Holland and his girlfriend consented to a search, which resulted in several more bags of “ice” being found on their person as well as two other small baggies containing what appeared to be methamphetamine in their belongings.
According to the police report, a plastic grider was found with residue on it, which Holland said was used to crush the “ice.” Holland stated that all the baggies and other items found were his, with none belonging to his girlfriend.
Holland was transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office for booking.
Additionally, Holland is charged with vandalism for an event that occurred in February 2018. Allegedly, Holland borrowed a camper from a man, then proceeded to destroy the camper, causing more than $500 in damage.
Holland is charged with Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine, and vandalism.
