Alvin Stein Stokes
(Smith County Insider Press)—Alvin Stein Stokes (25, Nashville) faces theft and drug charges after he was pulled over for speeding while traveling through Smith County on Interstate 40 on July 13, 2018.
According to the police report, a Tennessee State Trooper initiated the traffic stop and immediately detected a strong order of marijuana coming from Stokes’s vehicle.
Stokes consented to a search, and a glass container containing marijuana was found in the vehicle.
The officer also discovered a .22 caliber semiautomatic pistol in the vehicle. A check of the gun’s serial number revealed that it had been reported stolen in Robertson County in September 2014.
Stokes is charged with one count of theft of property and one count of the manufacture/distribution/sale of a controlled substance.
