(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tennessee — The manager of a local restaurant chain was arrested last week for sexual battery by an authority figure.
According to Sgt. B.J. Jackson with the Gordonsville Police Department, a female employee of a Gordonsville restaurant called police to file an assault report. The victim advised that while at work, her manager, 35-year-old Tarun Patel of Carthage, had walked up behind her, leaned into her, and as she tried to lean away, Patel pulled her back into his body, according to Jackson’s report.
The victim then advised that Patel started putting his hand into her back pockets, according to the report. She told him to stop, and he did, according to Jackson’s report. The victim then advised that Patel did it again, but this time, Patel put his hands down her pants and was grabbing her buttocks, according to Jackson’s report.
According to Jackson’s report, another female employee walked in, and the victim was able to push through Patel’s arms and get away from him.
Patel was arrested on the charge of sexual battery by an authority figure and transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking.
He was released after posting $50,000 bond and is to appear before the Smith County General Sessions Court on November 3.
