Man faces multiple drug charges following traffic stop

Ricky Bryan Bowman (34, Carthage)

(Smith County Insider Press)—Ricky Bryan Bowman (34, Carthage) was arrested on drug charges on September 6, 2019, following a traffic stop conducted by Smith County Sheriff’s Deputy Dallas Eddie.

According to the police report, Deputy Eddie initiated the traffic stop after confirming via dispatch that a vehicle traveling on Cookeville Highway had unconfirmed insurance. Bowman was a passenger in the vehicle.

Being familiar with Bowman’s drug history, Deputy Eddie asked for consent to search the vehicle.

According to the police report, a TCH cartridge (1.1 grams/92.52% THC), a digital scale with marijuana residue, 3 hydrocodone pills, and .2 grams of marijuana were discovered inside the vehicle. 

Bowman claimed ownership of the items.

Bowman was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail for booking.

Bowman faces charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use, possession of Schedule II. 

Previously, Bowman was apprehended for drug charges following a traffic stop on Highway 25 in Carthage on August 8, 2019.

In relation to another incident, Bowman also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, manufacture/delivery/sell of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminal conspiracy (felony).
