(Smith County Insider Press)—On October 11, 2018, Mike Thompson of the 15th Drug Task Force was dispatched to Conditt Hollow Road in Carthage to conduct a probation search on Mr. Gary Thurman Woodard (60, Elmwood). This search led to Woodard’s arrest.
During the search, over 175 firearms were found in Woodard’s residence, along with over half an ounce of marijuana. According to the police report, officers also found evidence suggesting that marijuana plants had been grown and harvested inside the residence.
Woodard is a convicted felon and was on felony probation in Smith County.
Woodard is charged with two counts of possession of firearms during commission of a felony and two counts of manufacture/delivery/sale of a controlled substance.
