Dustin M Sapp
(Smith County Insider Press) – Sgt. Jared Smith with the Carthage Police Department was dispatched to Phelps Ct. in Carthage and found the ex-girlfriend of Dustin Sapp (22, Pleasant Shade) standing outside.
According to the arrest warrant, the ex-girlfriend informed Sgt. Smith that Sapp had just left the residence after stabbing himself several times in both legs, his upper chest, and forearm with a knife. She stated that prior to the incident the two had been arguing and that Sapp had been asked to leave several times.
According to the arrest warrant, Sapp pointed the knife toward his ex-girlfriend’s face during the argument while their 5 week old son was present in the room.
The ex-girlfriend attempted to call police but, according to the arrest warrant, Sapp took her cell phone and cut her arm in the process. Sapp later returned with the cell phone.
Blood was found in several places in the bedroom and bathroom, where the ex-girlfriend stated the argument took place.
Sapp is charged with domestic/aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and interference with emergency call.
