Smith County Schools will hold kindergarten registration for the 2026–2027 school year on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Parents and guardians are asked to contact their child’s zoned school to schedule an appointment for registration.
To enroll, children must be 5 years old on or before August 15, 2026. Several documents are required, including a birth certificate, a Tennessee Certificate of Immunization, proof of Smith County residency, and a physical examination completed by August 1, 2026. Proof of custody is also required if the child does not live with one or both natural parents.
Families may register on April 2 even if all documentation is not yet available; however, all required documents must be submitted before the child can begin school in August.
