Flying into the 2016 season with intensity and poise, your Smith County Owls seek to achieve great feats of athleticism, strength, and grace throughout the course of this 2016 soccer season. The Owls are led by coaches Kit Jenkins, Nicholus Bussell and Stephen Bare as the team progresses in their soccer skills and athlete mentality, rising up against adversity as they realize greatness. The boys’ soccer team has strained, conditioned, and practiced for many long hours in the recent months, but the fruit of their labor is beginning to bud as are the dandelions of the field on which they play, at Crump Paris Park. The upcoming season is full of promise as the boys strive to live up to the high expectations set in place by the school, community, and student body in not only their game play, but also their character, intelligence, and sportsmanship. The Owls began their electrifying season March 8 as they squared off against the formidable Jackson County in what would be seen by onlookers as a scrimmage, what with the mighty Owls trumping the Blue Devils in a decisive victory in their own hell (Blue Devils), winning 20. The Owls continued to roll almost a week later, this time in Cumberland County. Gridlock was the reigning story then, as the Owls managed to secure a 11 tie. The Owl’s remaining season is certainly something to anticipate with excitement and apprehension as they continue to soar past the opposition set before them. Already, the Owls have stunned the crowds of loyal supporters gathered to cheer them on as they relish in their hard-earned accomplishments.
