Kensea Skelton Announced as The 2021 Smith County High School Recipient of the Ira “Chuck” Donath Scholarship

The Ira “Chuck” Donath Trust committee is pleased to present Kensea Skelton as the 2021 Smith County High School recipient of the $7,500 Ira “Chuck’ Donath Scholarship and will be honored at the 5th annual Nobel Peace Prize Dinner on September 18th.

The late Mr.Donath endowed a $7,500 scholarship to be awarded to a Smith County High School senior based on their academic achievements, leadership, and community service.

Ms.Skelton is the daughter of Joe and Diane Skelton of Tanglewood and granddaughter to Kenneth and Jane Manning of Brush Creek. Kensea currently attends Tennessee Tech University and plans to major in Elementary Education. She says her biggest goal is once she graduates college she would like to come back to Smith County and start her career teaching second grade . Kensea believes education is very important and the best investment we can make is in our youth as it is our future.
