October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. The Genesis House, Inc. recently awarded Judge Brandon Bellar with the Purple Ribbon Award in recognition for his excellent service in providing protection for the victims and survivors of domestic violence in 15th Judicial District.
The award was presented by Danielle Girt of the Genesis House, Inc. who works as a victim service advocate for Smith County. The award aims to honor the many heroes of the domestic violence movement, including advocates, programs, shelters, survivors and members of the community support system.
