The Upper Cumberland Adult Education Program is proud to spotlight Joseph Jolly and congratulate him on his success completing the Smith County Adult Education Program. Joseph was born in Xian, China and was adopted by the Jolly family when he was 13 years old. He worked hard to overcome many obstacles including learning to speak English. In May 2021, he began taking day and evening classes. He recently passed his HiSET exam and obtained his High School Equivalency Degree. He plans to continue his education.
Daneta Shoulders from the Upper Cumberland Adult Education Program said “It has been a privilege to have met this young man and to have observed the eagerness he bestowed in obtaining his goals. I also found it quite remarkable when a challenge or a stumbling block was thrown his way, he held his head high, worked even harder, and said “In God’s timing.” Congratulations to Joseph Jolly. There is no doubt he will see things greater than these in the “chapters” to come.”
