A lifelong Tennessean who has lived in Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville, Green has built a record of leadership and community impact. She has secured funding for senior food programs, championed living wages for public employees, launched Shelby County’s first free gun lock-by-mail initiative, flipped her council seat from Republican to Democratic control, and helped achieve the first woman majority on the Memphis City Council. She is also an advocate for teachers, small businesses, and farmers and supports full legalization and taxation of marijuana to generate jobs, drive medical innovation, and stimulate economic growth.

“This race matters far beyond Tennessee,” Green said. “From pushing back against political extremism to fighting for policies that actually work for working families, we’re on the front lines of changing the narrative. I can’t wait to meet the people of Livingston, Chattanooga, and Nashville to hear your vision for the future of our state.”

As part of this tour, Green is also engaging a growing network of Gen Z volunteers and prioritizing time with young Tennesseans, including students at MTSU on this leg of her statewide tour. Her campaign is focused on encouraging the next generation to get involved early, whether by organizing, volunteering, voting, or running for local office.

“We recognize that young people should play a decisive role in shaping Tennessee’s future in the race and our policies to make Tennessee a state we can all be proud to live, work, and thrive,” Green said.

Green invites all Tennesseans to attend these campaign events and engage in a conversation about the policies and leadership Tennessee deserves.

Jerri Green is a mom, a public servant, and a lifelong Tennessean dedicated to leading Tennessee with integrity, inclusivity, and results. As a Memphis City Councilwoman, she has a proven record of community-focused leadership, fighting for economic opportunity, public safety, and social equity.
