On November 24th, 2022, Sergeant Junior Field along with Deputy Chris Lynn observed Mr. Christopher Denney stop at a local business located on Hickman Highway. Denney attempted to pick up a bag that was thrown out of the vehicle earlier that contained 7.6 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, digital scales, and baggies inside.
Upon arriving to retrieve the bag he was approached by Sgt. Fields. Denney threw the bag up in the air and entered the drivers side of his vehicle. Deputy Lynn pulled in behind Denney’s vehicle blocking an escape. Sgt. Fields directed Denney to get out of the vehicle. He complied and was taken into custody.
Upon searching Mr. Denney it was revealed that he had another 1.5 gram baggie of methamphetamine in his possession. Denney admitted to selling methamphetamine and purchasing with the intent to distribute the drugs. He was transported to the Smith County Jail for processing.
