K9 Sgt. Ridge Long performed a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on westbound on I40 at mile marker 258 for improper display of license plate. The vehicle had a Florida license plate but the driver identified as Anthony Moore, was not able to provide supporting documentation or explain why the car had Florida tags.

Moore denied the officer consent to search the vehicle, so Sgt. Long directed his K-9 Braun to perform a free-air sniff of vehicle. After a positive indication, the car was then searched and four ounces of marijuana, 1.8 grams of heroin, digital scales and a loaded 9 millimeter pistol were found. Additionally Moore was found to be on federal probation.

He was charged with two counts of manufacture, delivery and sale of controlled substances, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a weapon for the purpose of going armed and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond for Moore was set at $10,000 . He was released and will appear in court on a later date.
