A vehicle traveling west on I40 was stopped by Sgt. Long at mile marker 258 (Gordonsville off ramp) on March 29th. The stop was initiated due to the vehicle being registered to an owner with a suspended license. Sgt. Long approached the vehicle and the driver had his wallet openly laying on his lap with a TN ID showing. Upon questioning the driver, identified as Loren Blaine Davis, age 55 from Crossville, disclosed that he did not have a valid drivers license. A check revealed that his licenses had been revoked as a result of a DUI.
Davis was asked to exit the vehicle and consented to a search of his person. During the search 14 grams of marijuana was found in his left pants pocket and .10 grams of methamphetamine was found in the right pants pocket. Davis was immediately advised of his Miranda rights. He then admitted that there was addition drugs located in the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle additional drugs were discovered including 3 more baggies of marijuana for a total of 56 grams, 1.33 grams of methamphetamine, one hit of LSD, 15 Hydrocodone pills, five Alprazolan pills, one OxyContin and two small jars of THC wax.
Davis was charged with driving on revoked license, five counts of simple possession of narcotics, possession of methamphetamine, manufacture/delivery/sell of a controlled substance. He posted a $7,700 bond and was released from the county jail. His court date is set for late May.
