Heroin found in vehicle during traffic stop on Main Street in Gordonsville

(Smith County Insider Press)—Joshua Ryan Dugan (36, Gordonsville) was arrested for possession of heroin on July 19, 2018, after he was pulled over for failing to maintain proper lane of travel while driving on Main Street East in Gordonsville.

According to the police report, K-9 Constance was deployed for a free-air sniff of Dugan’s vehicle during the traffic stop. She indicated positive for the presence of illegal narcotics.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered approximately 2.7 grams of black tar heroin as well as multiple used syringes.

Dugan was transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office for booking.

Dugan is charged with possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use.
