

On February 12th Sgt. Junior Fields observed the driver of a silver Ford Flex SUV traveling slower than the posted speed limit while using a windshield mounted cell phone on I40 . Sgt. Fields made traffic stop on the vehicle and upon questioning the driver he noticed the smell of marijuana. Sgt. Fields asked the driver, identified as Shanae Edmonds to exit the vehicle. As she exited the vehicle she indicated that her passenger, and daughter, Sharnece Edmonds was in possession of a marijuana pipe.
When questioned, Sharnece Edmonds, surrendered a baggie containing the marijuana pipe. Deputy Ray Biggs arrived to the scene to assist. The vehicle was searched and additional drugs were discovered including 4 ozs of marijuana, four 1 oz bags of crystal methamphetamine, and 8 1/2 Hydrocodone (10 MG) pills. The women were arrested and transported to Smith County Jail.
Shanae Edmonds was charged with intent to manufacture, deliver and/or sell controlled substances, possession of methamphetamine, driving while in possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of drug parphernalia.
Sharnece Edmonds was charged with intent to manufacture, deliver and/or sell controlled substances and possession of methamphetamine.
