(Smith County Insider Press) Defeated, Tenn. – On Monday afternoon, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a grass fire at the 100 block of Difficult Road.
Defeated Creek Fire Department was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found a field was on fire, approximately 150ft wide. The fire rapidly spread within feet of a home and a barn. The fire was caused by a lawnmower that caught fire.
The Defeated Creek Fire Department was able to use their humvee brush truck to extinguish the fire within minutes. No structure were damaged during the blaze.
