The Gordonsville Tigers Volleyball team has had a number of memorable moments this past week, but perhaps none are bigger than Senior Sydney Haley notching her 1,000th kill shot on October 8th against Westmoreland, the first in Gordonsville history to reach this milestone.

Gordonsville coach Brian Leslie had high praises for Haley and her teammates throughout her career.

“Such an individual achievement speaks to the hard work and dedication Sydney has put into the sport of volleyball,” Leslie said. “It also speaks to the success of the team and to the quality oGorf Sydney’s teammates during her tenure who helped her to achieve this goal.”

The Tigerettes also had a good week on the court, winning games against Westmoreland and Trousdale County to make it to the district championship game against Watertown. The Tigerettes ended up losing this game. Their second place finish sent them to the region tournament, where Gordonsville lost to the East Robertson Indians. Gordonsville finished their season with 15 wins and 11 losses.
