The Gordonsville Tigers lost 28-21 in a close battle on Friday night against the Monterey Wildcats 28-21, dropping to 3-7 on the season.

The Tigers got off to a hot start, with Skyshn Washer scoring two touchdowns to give the Tigers a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. Monterey responded midway through the second quarter to narrow the lead to 14-7. This score continued to halftime.

Monterey would tie it up late into the third quarter, to make the score 14-14 with 3:41 left in the 3rd quarter.

The Wildcats kept their momentum in the fourth quarter, scoring back-to-back  touchdowns to take a 28-14 lead, in the 4th quarter. Gordonsville was able to claw back and score to narrow the score to 28-21, and got one last opportunity late in the game to make a comeback. Im a last ditch effort, the Tigers were stopped at the 5 yard line on the last play of the game.
