Gordonsville Football wins big over Red Boiling Springs

The Gordonsville Tigers got the region schedule started on the right foot, beating Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs 44-14 on the road.

The Tigers were able to break away early, with Braxton Givens scoring in the first quarter, followed by three touchdowns in the second quarter. Taylor Thaxton and Givens both scored rushing touchdowns in the second, with the third touchdown of the quarter coming off of a Thaxton pass to Adam Brinkley to make the score 28-0 going into the half.

RBS struck first in the second half, but weren’t able to put together a comeback as the Tigers answered with a 22 yard touchdown run by Skyshn Washer and a two point conversion run by Taylor Thaxton to make the score 36-7. The Bulldogs were able to score late in the fourth quarter off of a 10 yard touchdown run with 4:20 left in the game to make the score 36-14, but the Tigers responded with a 21 yard Jaylen Brown touchdown followed by a two point conversion to wrap up the scoring at 44-14.

The Tigers will host Trousdale County next week, September 7th.
