
The student organization of Family Consumer Science classes recently held the FCCLA State Leadership Conference. Throughout the year, members have the opportunity to select a competition project to enhance leadership and communication skills while focusing on the family by conducting community service activities.
This year the Gordonsville High School Chapter had two members to compete at the state level. Molly Jones placed 1st in the event, National Programs in Action and Kailey Hawthorne placed 2nd in the event, Chapter in Review, Portfolio. Both students received a gold rating for their projects.
Molly Jones and Kailey Hawthorne are eligible to compete at the national level this summer. The competition will take place the end of June during the FCCLA National Leadership Conference. This year the conference location is San Diego, California.
Gordonsville High School FCLA Chapter is an active organization in our school and the community. We are extremely proud to have members, Molly Jones and Kailey Hawthorne, represent our school, community and state during the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.
