Gas line rupture in Pleasant Shade

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, a Spectra Energy natural gas pipeline erupted in the area of Stone Branch Road in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee.

An explosion has been confirmed.

According to Sonny Carter, Smith County EMA Director, no one was injured in the incident.

First responders and officers from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department were promptly called to the scene.

Some debris were blown into the road, and damage to nearby buildings was reported.

The gas line has now been shut off.
