(Smith County Insider Press) Chestnut Mound, Tenn. — On Monday morning, January 1, Smith County 911 received a call reporting a structure fire on Pea Ridge Road in Chestnut Mound. 
Forks River, Central District, and Rock City Rome Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene. When authorities arrived on scene, they found a single story brick home fully engulfed in flames. It took several hours to extinguish the fire. Forks River Fire Department was dispatched to the scene a second time due to the fire rekindling. 
According to the Tennessee Property Data website, the owner of the home is Joe Melvin Robinson.
Sources indicate that the home was occupied by a family with six kids. Four of the children attend Forks River Elementary. The Smith County Bus Garage is accepting donations to help the family cover expenses.
