Evasion of a Officer Leads to Multiple Charges

On April 5th, Deputy Dallas Eddie was dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle sitting in the roadway in the area of Pig Branch Rd. Deputy Eddie’s attempted to make contact with the vehicle in question. He pulled up next to the vehicle and the vehicle immediately drove away. After the evasion, the Deputy pursued and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Justin Lohorn.

Deputy Eddie asked for Lohorn´s ID which was in his hand but Lohorn looked in the passenger side seat. After being advised his ID was in his hand he was asked to step out of the vehicle. Lohorn reached for his waistline revealing a knife and he began to throw other items on the passenger seat. Deputy Eddie pulled out his handgun and ordered him to step outside the vehicle. After handcuffing the suspect, it was found out he was on probation. 

During a search of the vehicle the following was found: 9 ziplock bags containing a green leafy substance 4-16 grams in weight, a digital scale, a small baggie of a crystal like substance, 9 mm handgun, multiple rounds of ammo, an ashtray of smoked blunts, a glass meth pipe with residue, and a marijuana grinder. Lohorn advised Deputy Eddie that the leafy substance was marijuana and that he was a convicted felon. 

Mr. Lohorn was then transported to the Smith County Jail Facility for booking. He is being charged with simple possession of Schedule 2 (methamphetamine), manufacturing, delivering, selling Schedule 4 (marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun during a dangerous felony, and  unlawful carrying of a handgun. Mr. Lohorn was confirmed to be a convicted felon by dispatch.
