Emmanuel House Taste of River City Fundraising Event Cancelled- Graduation Ceremony to Take Place March 18, 2021

March 12, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we must cancel our fundraising event scheduled for Thursday, March 18th. Three weeks ago, we had a number of great restaurants committed to participating in this event; however, as the COVID-19 situation continues to improve many of our supporters have found their businesses busier than they have been in months. While this is great news for our friends, it has unfortunately made it more difficult for them to commit to staffing a restaurant as well as a fundraising event. This has necessitated them to back out of our event. We are saddened by this but are also excited for our community partners that they are succeeding as we come out of this year-long pandemic.

We have had many to suggest to us that we should host a similar event in the summer, and we are exploring that idea with the hopes that summer will bring more stability and confidence to both our restaurants and those who wish to support us by coming out to such an event. Please keep your eyes out for this potential new event!

Although we are cancelling the actual fundraiser, we will still be having our graduation ceremony for the residents who have completed our program on Thursday, March 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Ag Center as scheduled. This will be a ceremony only and not a fundraiser, so admission is free. We encourage any community member who would like to learn more about the Emmanuel House to come and celebrate these ladies with us.

Those who have already purchased tickets may return your tickets for a refund to Monica Mowdy by calling (615) 735-0343 or you may bring your tickets to the graduation ceremony on March 18th. If you have not requested a refund by that day, we will gratefully consider your ticket purchase a donation.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but very much appreciate the support this community gives us and the women and children we strive to help.
