DTC Communications donates over $20,000 in school supplies

December 31, 2018

ALEXANDRIA, TN, December 20, 2018Christmas came early for 22 schools located within the DTC Communications service area.

A DTC Communications customer promotion held throughout the third quarter of 2018 resulted in more than $20,000 in school supplies being donated to the area schools. During the promotion, customers, who added or upgraded their DTC Internet or DTC TV service, received a $25 credit. The customer then had the opportunity to select an area school to receive $25 in school supplies.

“DTC is a working to improve the quality of life for our members and the region we serve. Being a community-focused cooperative made it easy to craft a promotion, along with the help of our loyal and valuable customers, that will benefit our local schools, especially with cold and flu season right around the corner,” said Chris Townson, CEO of DTC Communications. “It means a great deal that we were able to provide these supplies with the help of our customers. It’s always an honor for us to be able to help our local schools in any way we can, and it’s a great feeling knowing our customers were a big part of this effort.”

Each of the 22 schools within the DTC service area, which included schools in Cannon, DeKalb, Smith and Wilson counties, all received at least $250 in supplies, which included Kleenex, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and Lysol. Employees of DTC Communications delivered the supplies prior to each school’s Christmas break.

“The supplies provided to us by DTC Communications were an absolute blessing,” said Anita Puckett, Interim Principal at Smithville Elementary School. “What many people may not know, these supplies that were provided, many times our teachers purchase these items out of their own pockets. When our staff was taking these supplies to each of the classrooms, the teachers were absolutely elated. We are so appreciative to DTC Communications and their customers for providing Smithville Elementary with these much-needed supplies.”

DTC Communications is a member owned telephone cooperative established in 1951. The cooperative supplies communication and entertainment products and services to residential and business customers primarily throughout Middle Tennessee. Learn more about DTC Communications at www.DTCcom.net
