
On June 23rd, Sgt. Junior Fields along with Deputy Brady Dodson went to the Carthage Wine and Spirits for a drug investigation into the distribution of Schedule II (Hydrocodone).
Upon arrival Sgt. Fields spoke to Mr. John David Holder Sr. who was the suspect under investigation. Investigators were acting on previous information that Holder was selling hydrocodone pills.Upon speaking to him he admitted to distributing Hydrocodone pills from the store and specifically stated that he had been getting rid of about half of the 120 pills he was prescribed per month. Mr. Holder also had two pistols inside the store which were a M&P Smith and Wesson Semi Auto 3 and a Ruger LCP.
A third pistol which was a Colt 357 Magnum revolver along with a semi auto 12 Ga. Shotgun was located in Mr. Holder’s vehicle. Mr. Holder advised he had also been getting rid of some of his Gabapentin pills from the liquor store also.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the Smith County Jail for processing. The firearms were seized due to being possessed during the commission of a felony and the drugs were placed into evidence.
