Mr. James Kittrell 
Ms. Shahuna Anderson
On February 22, Deputy Nathan Williams conducted a traffic stop at the 254 mile marker of I-40 West after observing a Ford F-150 with an illegal window tint. The Driver, Mr. James Kittrell, did not have a driver’s license, only a state ID card. He and the passenger, Ms. Shahuna Anderson, were asked to exit the vehicle.
When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, Ms. Anderson stated that there was a syringe; she also revealed a meth pipe that was located on her person. Once the driver and passenger were detained, Sgt. Lankford arrived to help conduct a vehicle search.
During a thorough investigation, several syringes we located in the vehicle, and 0.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine was found hidden inside of a key fob which appeared to have been tampered with. Both individuals denied ownership of the methamphetamine. Once Mr. Kittrell’s driver’s license was looked up, it appeared to have been revoked for FTA.
Both individuals were transported to the Smith County Sheriff’s office for processing. Mr. Kittrell is charged with possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license. Ms. Anderson is charged with possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
