(Smith County Insider Press) Gordonsville, Tenn. – On Thursday March 17, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Cothron initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 40 within Smith County. Upon approaching the vehicle, Trooper Cothron smelled the aroma of marijuana coming from inside. While Trooper Cothron was checking the driver’s license and waiting for assistance, the driver, Ahmed Abdullah Mohammed, threw a clear bag containing marijuana onto the grassy shoulder of the interstate. Rolling papers were also found in the center console of the vehicle.
Ahmed Abdullah Mohammed was thus charged with simple possession of a schedule VI drug, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence.
