Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will be closing the Cordell Hull Bridge (Old SR 25) for a repair project. The closure is anticipated to start the week of May 25 and finish in mid-July.
In addition to structural repair work, crews will also be spot cleaning and painting some of the structural steel and cleaning out deck drains.
A signed detour will direct traffic to cross the Cumberland River via SR 25. Message boards will be installed to advise drivers of the upcoming closure.
The contract amount is $333,413.20, and the contractor is Summers-Taylor, Inc. out of Elizabethton, Tennessee.
