COLLIERVILLE, Tenn., July 19, 2019 – United States Congressman David Kustoff and Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Commissioner Greg Gonzales were the guest speakers at the BankTennessee Leadership Forum on June 7. Providing a federal and state perspective on the financial industry, they spoke to area business leaders, customers, and BankTennessee directors and staff.
Jim Rout, president and CEO of the bank, said, “It was a privilege to host Congressman Kustoff and Mr. Gonzales at the bank. We appreciate their outstanding leadership and dedicated service to our local community, state and the nation.”
“Commissioner Gonzales, who has served under 3 governors, has shown an understanding of the unique needs of community banks as well as larger regional banks and large national banks. In addition to serving Tennessee banks, he also serves in leadership positions on national banking committees,” Rout commented.
Prior to his election to the United States Congress in 2016, Kustoff served on the BankTennessee board of directors. Rout added, “As a result of his tenure of leadership at BankTennessee, Kustoff said that he gained first-hand knowledge of the regulatory burden generated by Dodd-Frank as a result of his service to our bank and that it gave him the reason to serve on the Financial Services Committee.”
