(Smith County Insider Press)—A bank robbery occurred at the Highway 25 location of Citizens Bank in Carthage, Tennessee, shortly after noon on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
Four suspects were involved in the incident. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene, leading to a high-speed pursuit along Interstate 40.
The Smith County Sheriff’s Office, the Gordonsville Police Department, and the Carthage Police Department, assisted by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol, apprehended the suspects when they encountered traffic at mile marker 236.
The suspects were placed under arrest, and the FBI has taken over the investigation, according to Smith County Sheriff, Steve Hopper.
The names of the four suspects have not yet been released.
No one was injured during the robbery.
